Brunello di Montalcino 2003 Pietranera
Country: Italy | Region: Tuscany
Color: Red | Winery: Pietranera
Pietranera Brunello is ample and broad, with an intense ruby-red colour and a tendency to garnet red with the ageing. On the nose it presents a wide range of aromas among which fruit and spicy hints, besides some notes of cacao and chocolate in the best vintages. It has a supple tannic structure, and stands out for its elegance and the long finish.
We met Olga Centolani at Vinitaly in Verona in April of 2008. We loved her wines and consider importing her wines a major accomplishment. Her Brunello's are among the very to of the list of Quality.
Wine Spectator 89 Pts Price per W/S 69.00
here is what W/S says There's lots of ripe fruit on the nose, with a slightly raisiny undertone. Full-bodied, with good fruit and a round, delicious aftertaste. There's plenty of fruit. Best after 2010. 3,335 cases made. –JS
